When a Domainbie finalizes deal with his or her buyer, often the question comes- How to make receive payments from buyer securely?

One vital rule of thumb for selling or buying domain names is that one shouldn’t go for Paypal transaction if the selling or buying amount is more than $100. Try to get familiar with escrow service, like Moniker Escrow or Sedo Escrow, so that as a seller you certainly receive money and buyer receives domain. The Escrow Process can be illustrated as follows:

There is no necessary to take unwise risks at all; hence, a Domainbie should use Escrow service on a regular basis.

Learn more thoroughly about the topic by downloading Full “Domainbie Ebook” by signing-up as follows:
And the result is quite satisfactory in terms of almost zero promotion since the downloads of “Domainbie Ebook” is about to reach 1500 times by this month. Most of downloads has been served to my facebook and twitter friends. I would like thank you all for downloading this ebook and also request to consider paying for this ebook ONLY IF you have found it useful. I hope to reach 50,000 downloads within this year and may be it will reach even more people since some major marketing campaigns are in pipeline.

Even though your choice of domain is brilliant, it may not be so neat from a legal perspective. If your domain name conflict with other company’s trademark, you may receive Cease-and-Desist (C&D) letter from trademark holder or company to stop using the domain. And your all money and sweat you have spent to develop it will go in vain. So, please stay out of trademarked domains.

Before I show you how to stay out of trouble of trademarked domains, I suggest you to check following sources to understand trademark and trademark related problems in depth-

a) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGyJx_9iSO4
b) Huge list of frequently asked questions (and answers) about trademark
http://www.chillingeffects.org/trademark/faq.cgi

Are you a bit nervous to know all those things about trademark? There is nothing to be scared at all. Just try to follow following steps before you register your domains:

Step 1:
The best trademark search system is Google itself. Just go to Google.com and search with your desired domain name that you are considering to register. If you find bunch of pages related to your domain related keywords, this is fine indication that there might have trademark to your desired domain already. So, start with Google.

Step 2:
The second most important place to go for checking potential conflicts is the trademark database of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office at http://www.uspto.gov.

To check for registered trademarks in the United States, follow following steps:
i)	Go to http://www.uspto.gov
ii)	Now click on the Trademarks link from top navigation bar.
iii)	Then click on Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)
iv)	Click New User Form Search (Basic).
v)	Ok. Now type keywords from your planned domain name in the Search box and click Submit Query. Bingo!!! It will let you know whether there are any trademarks (dead or alive) for your given term.
vi)	Repeat above process for all of your domains you want to register.

Step 3:
Check also other Countries’ databases for potential trademark conflicts:
European Union : http://oami.europa.eu
China: http://www.chinatrademarkdatabase.com
Japan: http://www.jpo.go.jp/quick_e/index_search.htm
Australia:http://pericles.ipaustralia.gov.au/atmoss/Falcon.Search_Screen?p_search_no=0&p_SearchLevel=BASIC
UK: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tm/t-find/t-find-text/
Canada:http://www.ic.gc.ca/app/opic-cipo/trdmrks/srch/tmSrch.do?lang=eng

So, that’s all about how to stay out of trouble of trademarked domain names .

Today, I’m going to write about few core domain characteristics to consider when a domainbie purchases a domain:

a) Target Audience or Buyer
Does your domain target a particular audience or buyer group? If you are buying the domain for domaining, then ask yourself- Who are my potential end buyers for it? Is my Buyer group large enough to make it sell? The larger the buyer group of chosen domain, the better chance to make it sell. So, always keep a target audience or buyer group in mind when you purchase your preferred domains; this is the core principle of perfect domain purchase.

b) Brandability
Try to identify branding potential in your domain. Does your domain name communicate well to your targeted industry or audience? How well a company can promote a product or service using your selected domain? Is the domain eye catching, and easily pronounceable?

c) Extension – Dot Com should be first choice
Stick with dot com if you can because the branding or selling risk issue of “.com” is by far less than any other extensions. Record of previous premium domain sales suggests that “.com” is high valued. It is natural, isn’t it? Why? In most cases, it has become our behavior that when we do search in URL bar, we try to figure out website with a dot COM rather than any other extensions. Therefore, Dot Com should be first choice whatever the domain name you consider to buy.

d) Memorability
How easy is it to remember your domain? Try to keep domain name short and sweet that makes it easier to remember. This is my personal view that a domain name within 10 letters or within 2 words is more memorable.

e) Free from Hyphens and Numerals
Avoid using hyphens and adding numerals in domains, such as your-domain.com, yourdomain83.com etc unless you have good knowledge about what the ultimate potential of your domain is. Why should a Domainbie avoid these types of domains? The Answer is simple. These types of domains will have no natural traffic or very negligible traffic, and very less memorable. Therefore, they are worthless to buy at the very beginning of your journey.

That’s all core characteristics a Domainbie needs to consider while buying a domain name.
